Age of the Public

10 months.

You don’t believe me, do you ?

You should.

We have lots and lots of shows for babies.

It’s so cute, isn’t it ?

Seriously, this is a very serious matter.

And and very serious part of our programming.

In concrete terms, these are very short shows.

Lumière / show for very young public

We welcome the baby into the arms of his mother (or his father, his nanny, or his favourite dog – in short, the arms between which the baby feels good)
We set them both up next to other mom-and-baby duets.

The lights are slowly turned off – but a soft aura shines through, the baby should not be afraid.

And it begins.

For very young children, most shows are based on lyrical singing.

Theater De Spiegel

I saw “The Nest” with the youngest, those who can’t sit up yet
I’ve been conquered by it.

And it’s astonishing to see an entire infant room with its eyes wide open.
In complete silence, babies listen, they wiggle a little with their feet or hands
All the theatre staff are left with their little tears, because they’re definitely too cute, these little ones called babies.

Plis/Sons: show for very young public

Sometimes we amaze them with tissue paper

Who flies away
squeaky
that changes
that makes them laugh

and a whole room full of baby laughter, have you ever heard that?
It’s just magical.

But a theatre is magic.

So a theatre is also for babies.

  1. Most adorable and uplifting. Theatre for the very young ones among us. The second pic reminded me of the shadow play “Karagöz and Hacivat” which I used to love as a child. It is never too early nor too late to start appreciating and discovering art in different forms. Thanks so much for sharing.
